We would love to host your tech-enabled research solution!

As researchers ourselves, we understand the excitement of developing new tech-driven solutions for research and are always on the lookout for innovative ideas. If you have a research app idea that you think would be a valuable addition to our platform, we encourage you to get in touch with us.

At Laterite, our goal is to offer researchers around the world the best possible suite of applications to make their research more effective, including tools that save time and streamline tedious tasks. We have some ideas of our own, but we know that there are many other researchers out there who have fantastic ideas as well. If you are a researcher with an app that you would like to make widely available, we would be happy to discuss the possibility of including it on our platform. In return, we offer 75% of the net margin attributed to your app.

A research app should be a tool that is useful and valuable to researchers in their work. To be considered for inclusion on our platform, an app should meet the following criteria:

  1. It should be written in Python.
  2. It should require a simple input, such as a dataset, Excel sheet, or CSV file.
  3. It should produce a professional output that is easy to understand and use.
  4. It should have a relatively low processing requirement in order to be efficient and fast.
  5. Ideally, it should draw on a large language model or other foundational AI model to enhance its functionality and value.

While it is not necessary for an app to meet all of these criteria, it should demonstrate a clear value to researchers and be well-suited to their needs.

Note that we offer a hybrid subscription model. All of the content on our platform is accessible through a free subscription, although there are some limitations on usage. We believe that research should be a public good to the greatest extent possible, which is why we offer free tools to support researchers. However, we also offer a paid subscription option that allows users to make more requests and access better (and more expensive) artificial intelligence algorithms. This hybrid subscription model helps us cover the costs of running the platform while still offering free tools to researchers.

If you are interested in discussing the possibility of becoming an app contributor, please get in touch with us through the provided link. We look forward to hearing your ideas and exploring the potential for collaboration.
